| | Problems with Brandon, the hoster (25th May 08 at 8:30pm UTC) | | Okay, so you guys know Brandon, the hoster, correct? He's actually a pretty good host, but the thing is, I misinterpretated his internet connection. About only two days ago, Brandon's internet went downhill. I do not know if it is his router or ISP, or anything, but I know it always makes the server crash. He is trying to get a new ISP so the server will work better, but I highly doubt he will get a new ISP. His computer is really good to host on, which is why I used his computer instead of mine, or Hamachi, but his internet is just a problem. Yesterday, his internet crashed for five hours and had to re-route everything. It is problems for the server. :[ We all know there is nothing we can do to fix his internet problem unless he gets a new ISP, or we get a new hoster.
The server gets lag spikes because of the events. I will host more private and secret events so there is no lag spikes. The amount of people in one map just make is lag a little, plus the summonings of Zakum and Horntail. I will never do an event w/ multiple bosses again because of this problem.

I've had a ****ty router connectivity these past days as well. Don't stress yourself over it, and the event thing would be helpful. Thanks, and try to limit the players in an event to dissipate the lag. You can mark off who participated in one event and then let them sit out of the next, that way we can limit the number of people in an event and make it better [: | |

| | Re: Problems with Brandon, the hoster (25th May 08 at 8:58pm UTC) | | Robert, after reading your post several times, I've realized you never explained how long it will take for it to be back up, and also that obtaining a new ISP would be a pain, but why don't you just reroute all of the files and host it onto your computer? That way we can atleast play, even with a little lag and such, rather than do something else? We love this server, all of us die-hard fans love your server so much, and I know that it takes a lot of dedication and effort to keep it running, but for the sake of all of us, PLEASE host it elsewhere until Brandon's ISP is changed or he gets it back up and running again so we can all play.

I'd help you host, but my computer is ****ty. I'm using my bro's. My own computer, which is better, is for some reason not receiving an internet connection. I'll post this computer's specs and you tell me if I can host or not. If I can, I gladly will. I can keep the computer on 24/7. | |
