What is the Royal Oak Concept?

Audemars Piguet currently produces another important Royal Oak series: the Royal Oak Concept swiss luxury replica review. The Associated Press describes its Royal Oak Concept collection as “a marriage of ultra-modern technical precision and cutting-edge micromechanics to create perfect harmony between case and movement” – a description that certainly holds true.

While the Royal Oak Offshore is a bold take on the classic Royal Oak, within the Royal Oak Concept Collection you'll find “halo pieces” featuring state-of-the-art materials, skeletonized movements, flying tourbillons and minute displays. Repeater complications.

A few years ago, Audemars Piguet released the Royal Oak Concept Black Panther Flying Tourbillon in a limited edition of 250 pieces. Inspired by comics and the hit Marvel movie Black Panther, eye-catching titanium and black ceramic feature a hand-painted superhero 3D effect on the dial. We've spotted this very special Audemars Piguet watch on the wrists of celebrities like LeBron James, The Weeknd, and Neymar.

Royal Oak Treasure
When Audemars Piguet watches replica high quality first launched the Royal Oak, it was known in some circles as the “Jumbo” due to its larger-than-average size. While 39mm is far from large by today's watch standards, the name has been used to describe a specific group of Royal Oak models.

The Royal Oak "Jumbo" is the name given to the original model 5402ST or to subsequent models developed in honor of that original model. Royal Oak Jumbo models have ultra-thin 39mm cases, no seconds hand, and most are powered by the Caliber 2121 automatic movement (based on Jaeger-LeCoultre's Caliber 920). The official name of these models is the Royal Oak "Jumbo" Extra - the brand's thinnest watch.

Royal Oak “Jumbo” ultra-thin watch reference:

Reference 5402ST: Introduced in 1972 but available in several series (A, B, C and D series)
Reference 14802 Jubilee: Limited edition Royal Oak (1,000 pieces) produced in 1992 to commemorate the model's 20th anniversary
Reference 15002ST: Released in the mid-1990s, only 186 were produced according to some reports
Reference 15202ST: Originally released in 2000, but redesigned in 2012 (celebrating its 40th anniversary) to look more like the original Jumbo reference.
Reference 16202ST: Released in 2022, this is the latest version of the original Royal Oak Jumbo, powered by the new Caliber 7121 movement with a longer power reserve.
In 2005, Audemars Piguet released a new version of the Royal Oak, which we now consider a standard or mainstream RO watch. While the Royal Oak collection remained expensive and exclusive, Audemars Piguet lowered prices and increased production of non-giant Royal Oak models—a strategy that proved highly successful and resulted in huge profits for the brand. replica Audemars Piguet ROYAL OAK OFFSHORE

The standard “mainstream” Royal Oak (officially called the Royal Oak Automatic by the brand) differs from the Royal Oak Jumbo in a number of ways. First, they have thicker cases than the Jumbo models (due to the 3120 movement inside the watch) and come in a variety of sizes. The dial layout is also slightly different, with a seconds hand on the RO Automatic but not on the RO Jumbo Extra-Thin, and the placement of the logo is also different.

Standard Royal Oak Automatic Reference:

Royal Oak 39mm 15300: 2005 – 2012
Royal Oak 41mm 15400: 2012 – 2019
Royal Oak 37mm 15450: 2012 – 2022
Royal Oak 41mm 15500: 2019 to present
Royal Oak 37mm 15550: 2022 to present

Royal Oak Chronograph and Royal Oak Offshore
As mentioned before, most Royal Oak Offshore watches are chronograph models. However, AP also produces Royal Oak chronographs. Given the similar silhouette and identical complications, what exactly is the difference between the Royal Oak Chronograph and the Royal Oak Offshore?

Again, one of the main differences between the two watches is the proportions of the watch - the RO Offshore is sturdier, heavier and bolder in style. Additionally, the Royal Oak Offshore will feature design details such as rubber and/or ceramic-covered chronograph pushers and a gasket visible beneath the octagonal bezel. The Offshore's dial is also different in that it contains a tachymeter scale and most (but not all) of the sub-registers are at 6, 9 and 12 o'clock rather than the more traditional 3, 6, 9 o'clock layout. It's worth noting that the Royal Oak Offshore was launched in 1993 and the Royal Oak Chronograph in 1997. Like the previous “Jumbo” watches, the first two generations of the Royal Oak Chronograph came in 39 mm cases. However, in 2012, AP redesigned the Royal Oak Chronograph with a larger 41mm case, and six years later introduced a new 38mm option for those who preferred a smaller chronograph.

1997: Royal Oak Chronograph 39mm ref. 25860
2008: Royal Oak Chronograph 39mm Ref. 26300
2012: Royal Oak Chronograph 41mm ref. 26320
2017: Royal Oak Chronograph 41mm ref. 26331
2019: Royal Oak Chronograph 38mm ref. 26315

Royal Oak Offshore Divers
Unlike the classic Royal Oak series, the Royal Oak Offshore series has a variety of diving watch models - including chronograph and non-chronograph versions.

In 2010, Audemars Piguet launched the Royal Oak Offshore Diving Watch, which is an evolution of the 2005 ROO Scuba. One of the iconic design features of the Offshore Diver is the crown located at 10 o'clock, which is used to control the internal rotating bezel on the dial. In addition, the Royal Oak Offshore Diver eliminates the chronograph complication and is water-resistant to 1,000 feet (300 meters). replica Bell and Ross BR 03-92 Diver Watches

AP then completed the collection in 2016 with the launch of the Royal Oak Offshore Diver Chronograph, a model that retained the same 42mm case size but added two chronograph pushers on either side of the winding crown.

Royal Oak or Offshore?
From traditional and (relatively) conservative to bold, high-tech and daring, the various Audemars Piguet Royal Oak collections offer a wealth of diversity in the iconic Royal Oak aesthetic.

As long as you have a partial understanding of the Royal Oak's basic design language, you'll almost certainly find a watch that's right for you.

If your tastes are more toward oversized watches and eye-catching designs, or you're looking for a dive watch, the Royal Oak Offshore might be a better fit for you. Or, if you prefer the luxurious vibe of a classic 1970s sports watch, the classic Royal Oak is your best choice. Whichever way you go, the Royal Oak and Royal Oak Offshore are legendary Audemars Piguet watches that changed the luxury watch industry as we know it. replica Chopard Alpine Eagle Watch
